What to expect on a CBT?

Practical on-site riding
During the CBT you will learn the basic skills to make you competent and safe to ride on the public road. THE CBT IS NOT A TEST. Training will take place in the classroom and on-site to begin with, on successful completion of the first four elements you will move on to riding on the public highway to gain road riding experience. Your instructor will be in contact with you via a radio link to guide you and ensure that you are safe.

Most students will take one day to complete the course however, if you are a complete beginner and you are wanting to take the course on a geared bike it may take longer.

At the end of the CBT course, so long as you have reached the required standard, you will be issued with a DL196 certificate which is valid for two years from that date.
